Showcase

Very rarely do you find sites that are dedicated entirely to fashion illustration only. These are examples of what people can do with those drawings, and a great way to start would be to use some fashion-templates.com templates! I have chosen them for you to use as inspiration. To submit yours, go to this page. If your work is showcased here without your permission and you would like it removed, please inform me asap.

If you would like to purchase a cd/download with 1500+ full colour (some pencil) fashion illustrations and storyboard images for $20 - contact me

Education: BFA, PARSONS SCHOOL OF DESIGN  class of: 2005, Location: Manhattan, New york
email: notoriousrobyn@hotmail.com

She was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland where her parents discovered her talents for drawing and painting at the early age of 3 years old.  As a child she always liked to paint, draw, doodle and have craft night with her mother every chance she got.  She became interested in fashion design around the age of 9 years due to watching her older sister draw fashions in her sketch book.  While developing her fashion illustration and design skills/techniques, she continued to study fine arts in highschool and work on a fine arts portfolio along with snippets of fashion designs for college interviews.

She moved to NY in 2001 and studied at Parsons school of design from 2001-05.  She graduated in May of 2005  and got her first out of college job working as an assistant designer for Beyonce Knowles new line called the ‘House of Dereon’.  She designed numerous pieces based off of inspirational boards created by Tina Knowles and the creative director.  She designed womens ready to wear pieces, knits, wovens, dresses, skirts, tops and bottoms. While designing for the ‘House of Dereon’ line she was able to travel overseas to Hong Kong and Mainland China where her and the design director reviewed and fit samples, over-looked production and sourced trims and fabrics.  She also traveled to Las Vegas for MAGIC and Los Angeles, California for additional business purposes.  Currently she is working as a design assistant for a major company located in NYC.

Lashanathao

Her work is once again a true example of brilliant rendering techniques, something that is so vital for good fashion design/illustration! Study her shading and highlights - try to note where the folds lie, on what part of the body. The creases generally fall at the knees and the crotch. You can capture the viewer’s imagination when using effective rendering techniques like hers!

Kuan Saiyuki

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Kuan Saiyuki, aged 20, hails from Cerritos, CA. Majored in Fashion Design, Specific Market of Interest: Bridge/Better Mens’ Sportswear. College: Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising Occupation:
1. MaxMara South Coast Plaza, Head Client Service Rep.
2. John Boyd Designs, Graphic Designer
Her rendering techniques are absolutely amazing! Look at the fold and crease work on the jeans!! The clothing rendering can be the difference between good and OUTSTANDING work. Practice those parts more than wasting time on learning to draw faces, hands and hair! Fashion design is about communicating your clothing designs effectively, not just your artistic drawing skills - so practice whats important.

Tina

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Tina is an 18 year old art student from Slovenia, I truly am in love with her drawing style of elongated and amplified proportions. If you use professional poses such as hers, you cant go wrong. I strongly urge people who cant draw to use some form of template to accurately express their work on a good platform.

Bella’s whimsical feminine watercolor illustrations take a traditional medium and push it to it to a fresh, pretty new place. Her strong ties to fashion began with work in visual display and a career as a make-up artist before going on to her true love, illustration - www.bellapilar.com
